Agreed! I just got a $1000 bonus on my check and only netted about $270.

Guess I am working for 27 cents on the dollar.

What percentage went into your 401k and did you count that ?

You can pretend that the IRS doesn't have the power of the government behind it but do so at your own peril.

This year I owe nothing and paid nothing because my income was all long term gains and I really limited how much I took out.

I'm feelin' this win pretty hard.

My donation is currently at 1% due to the recent raid on the economy by the current regime.

Damn man I am at 4 percent, but I am considering lowering it because health insurance cost is killing me too .

I'm not sure how you you would be taxed down to 27% percent with only dumping 1% into a 401k. I put in 15% to 401k and still have around 41% take home after taxes. I claim 0 or 1 for withholdings as well.

Are you being garnished? Do you have them take out additional taxes to offset some other income?

This was on the extra $1k quarterly performance bonus about amount compared to previous week at same hours worked.

No garnishments, claim zero (only additional amount for offset) , medical deductions, tithe, etc. 401K at 1% even though company match to 3%.

On a side note, Biden's promise of no additional taxes to those making under $440K a year is such a lie. Just like anything out of his mouth.
