Magpul just canceled an order that was placed before the 5th. They want to offer a discount and shirt to make good. Super disappointed.

Yes, Magul hounded me for leaving stuff in a cart then refused to complete the order after Thursday. I'm definitely glad I didn't put all my "eggs" in their basket.

The policy they decided on was rather clear.
Anything that didn't get shipped prior to the deadline got cancelled.

Their lawyers MUST assume that they are selling to customers who did not buy/sell/manufacture/import anything else. That's the only potential for non-compliance. The definition of "bought" is fuzzy, however section A of the law also covers importation. There's nothing saying you can't buy in another state, as long as it never enters California.

Did you "buy" one? Ok, but prior to it shipping it is still in their possession. They do not make explicit terms of sale stating otherwise.

Their lawyers are being cautious. While larger companies are able to fend off BS lawsuits, they are also a massive target if they get caught on some pilpul technicality.

I order one mag on Thursday and shipped and order another mag on Friday morning and both will be here tomorrow . Maybe more than they can handle and just decide to cancel a handful

Ordered Thursday, Magpul’s shipping page says it’s shipped and due here Wednesday, however it doesn’t look likely when UPS tracking says:

It was a duplicate order thankfully, I even called them on the 5th and they said it was too late to cancel my order, ironically. All my other non-Magpul orders have arrived or look more promising!

Yup, they’re cancelling my order. Thankfully Modern Warriors took care of me, as did all the other vendors.

This order would technically allow us to ship and avoid legal jeopardy for ourselves right up until the deadline, but the Stay Order specifically provides that it will be illegal for any person in California to receive a firearm magazine able to hold more than 10 rounds after April 5, 2019 at 5:00 p.m., based on the analysis of our legal team.
