I've been bombarded with texts and spam phone calls from his campaign. I received some flyers from the mail and it says he supports hiring more police officers and wants to get rid of illegal. I'm not sure what that's means

A ban on the sale of .50-caliber guns passed the Los Angeles Police Commission unanimously Tuesday, the latest in a series of measures designed to ban or limit the availability of weapons and ammunition in the city.

Police could not cite any instances in which the powerful weapons have been used to commit crimes in Los Angeles.

Commission President Rick Caruso said the ban, if passed by the Los Angeles City Council, will ensure that the weapons are harder to find. Such a weapon can pierce concrete from more than 400 yards and inflict damage over far greater distances, commissioners were told.

Whatever your source was. Seems to be about 11 yrs out of date according to Mr Wiki.
        Republican (before 2011)
It's also a poorly kept and well known secret that he donates buttloads of cash to the same Dems, that created the socioeconomic problems. That he is now campaigning to fix as his platform.

Sounds like the stereotypical DemRat to me.

Create a BIG problem. Then PROMISE to fix the problem by spending tax dollars.

Everything you would expect, and yet, if I have to vote between him and what else is on the list, I would put in for him over all the other options.

Absolutely a RINO, won't be doing us any favors other than he may yank the rug out from under all the Prop 47, bail-free-bail, Fund a Pedophile, Give a Gang a Break, "Defund the Police" and Gascon nonsense.

Toughen the gun laws for citizens, make new laws for 'ghost guns' and magazines
BUT take away bail and remove gun enhancements and stop prosecuting gun crimes??! Who do they think they're fooling?
                haha

TURD - Rich guy has served on lots of City boards. Builds/owns shopping centers like the Grove and the one across from the old mall in Glendale. His dad was a car dealer who has his license cancelled for being a crook. As a 40+ year LA City Employee and die hard R Don't vote for him. But on the flip side who else is running the current and any past counsel members are a hard pass.

Where did that he is an R or RINO come from?

This is from his website: Rick is a pro-jobs, pro-public safety Democrat ready to fight for a better, safer LA. Add your name to join the movement powering his campaign for a better, safer LA.

                      HOW ABOUT THIS TID BIT??

One of the titans of business in L.A. threw shade on his New York counterpart, telling us Donald Trump is an angry man who is not welcome at the West Coast's premiere shopping mall.

Because he is being endorsed by previous/other RINOs and his campaign is being aimed at registered Republicans, speaking to current Republican concerns about supporting law-enforcement, business, reducing run-away taxes.

My mail box has been full of his campaign fliers since he started; I haven't gotten ANY mailers from ANYONE else - being a registered Republican, it's a sure bet he's trying to target that demographic without actually stating as much.

But is he a Republican? No - he just wants to be coy and give the impression he is without actually putting it in writing in his campaign propaganda. Because he knows that there is no way in hell that any Republicans will even think of voting for any of the other Dem pukes running against him.

Then who will (or would, if you can't) you be voting for? The options are bleak.
