    Let's lock up L.A's guns

More nonsense from the L.A. Times....

Responsible gun owners know they can avoid accidents by taking certain precautions, including locking their weapons away or using trigger locks when their weapons aren't being used.

    It just never ends....

True, but you'd think after the Peruta ruling they'd give it a rest...or this may be a sign that they know they are losing and just trying to find another why to skin the cat...who knows...

Anytime the words "common sense" and gun are used together look out. I don't care if it takes "merely seconds" to remove the lock, it is unreasonable. If it is so reasonable, maybe the author of the editorial and author of the legislation would like to go up against me in a draw and shoot scenario where they have a trigger lock and I do not. Most criminals do not have the gun holstered, but to be "fair" in the true libtard fashion, I will start holstered.

"... But removing a trigger lock is not necessarily time-consuming. Some have simple three-digit combination locks that take seconds to open. It's by no means clear that that is an onerous obstruction..."

It certainly is to the person whose life depended getting access to their gun 3 seconds ago.

Yep, first thought in my head.

My night stand gun sits 1.5 feet from me, I can see the Tritium night sights smiling at me when I open my eyes, condition 1 (for a Glock).

I hear a sound in the night, find my glasses sitting next to the Glock (normally wear contacts) then turn on the light to see the combo...

                  ummmm not!

Krekorian and his gun grabbing gang of morons and the Tard Times can shove it.

It's not that they don't know what they are talking about; they are doing this c&ap because it drums up votes from sheeple. And boy do we have so many in LA.

First thing in the garbage after I buy a gun is the "trigger lock".

                      What a joke.

Want clarification of one thing...does it have to be locked when the owner isn't home only? When the owner is home, it can be unlocked? I'm not for any version of the law, but there is a big distinction in terms of likelihood that it will hold up in court.

My wife uses one for her locker at Costco, it sends a message even when not on a gun.

This proposed law doesn't accomplish anything except just making legal ownership a pain. They're proposing petty, spiteful restrictions, and are deserving of intense ridicule from reasonable people for doing so.

I didn't see that in the PDF. It only states:

                              when not in use
...which is pretty vague. Technically, if you've got it out to install a rail system or to do trigger work, it could still be considered "not in use".
