Thanks to further Gerrymandering and tweaking election laws in their favor, I doubt that the trend toward DEM will change any time soon.

To be completely fair, GOP does gerrymandering as well. ALthough IMO the entire process of redrawing lines should be done by a non-partisan committee.

That would have to be evenly balanced by having three jackalopes and three unicorns, with one chupacabra as the mediator.

Pretty unbalanced, since politically it leans to the left...

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

The redrawing of the district lines was done by a nonpartisan committee. One of my conservative professors was on the committee. The state was very gerrymandered before the redistricting took place.

SF/Bay Area and LA county is where all the money is. Those with the money make the rules. It's the American way. Think about who wrote the Constitution.

Illegal immigrants looking for a handout will cause this state to become the most Liberal state in union.

It's not leaning. It is laying on its left side.

LOL that's about right. Remember, the Democrats got more votes nationwide than the Republicans but lost due to gerrymandering on the national scale. We see Republicans similarly under-represented here in CA. The total number of republican voters do not equal how many republican representatives we have at the state level.

                            This is crazy:

Both chambers of the California legislature have been dominated by the Democratic Party since 1959 except in 1969 to 1971 when the Republican Party held both chambers and from 1994 to 1996, when Republicans briefly held a majority in the Assembly. Each member represents about 423,396 residents, as of the 2000 Census.[1]

California's voters imposed term limits on their State Senators and State Assembly Members in 1990; Senators could not serve for more than two terms (total of eight years) and Assembly Members could not serve for more than three terms (total of six years). California voters modified these limits in 2012 that modified term limits to allow legislators to serve 12 years total - but could spend all 12 in either house (total of three Senate terms or six Assembly terms).

I hope the Rulers of California finally ban all firearms this year and quit this "ban by a thousand cuts".
