The shrill noise on the left could make a map similar to 1972 a possibility.
But it's not at all probable.People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

Yeah, nothing like seeing the majority of the US backing the fall of the country

It shows a tie at 250 each if you look at the poll link on the right..even though current polling is showing the RNC "bounce" is over and Obama is retaking his lead. I think one poll i saw showed 48/46 in favor of BHO.
Regardless of polling, this will be yet another close election. It'll be interesting to see if one of the parties (or both) gets away with their vote tampering evil shenanigans. I wonder which states it'll happen to..and yes, it WILL happen and probably continue to happen I'm sure. Politics in this country are just as scandalous as they are in other so-called reputable countries.Fleeing the PRK on 3/8/09!!Comment

There are some that think Obama is in real trouble if he isn't polling at least 8 points ahead on election day, due to racial issues (people claim they'll vote for Obama, when they in fact won't). Certainly we saw in the primary that Obama always polled significantly better than he actually performed in an election.
On the other hand, they say they can't poll young people because young people don't have land lines. And young people are generally way more supportive of Obama than are older people. But then again, young people also traditionally have better things to do than go vote. Same basic deal with very poor people, except that very poor people don't vote because they're way too busy holding down two or three jobs.
On the other hand, the pollsters admit that they have a very high rate of people who refuse to take the poll, so they probably aren't sampling middle- and upper- class voters very well. I know I don't take political polls. Do you?
After researching political polling this morning, I'm convinced that the polls no longer mean anything. I just don't think they can get a random-enough sample of the population to be able to arrive at any statistically meaningful results.sigpic
