Keep the fire burning people, get the word out and by all means don't stop. With all of us gun owners working our friends, family members, fellow workers we could win this thing. Please by all means don't give up now. Talk the talk and walk the walk. Even if you change only one person it is a victory. So far I think I have a guy that was on the line into going our direction. I will not give up and will keep talking sense to those who are on the fence.

So what was Diane F's position in Government when she pushed for assault weapons ban in CA? I'm just asking, I remember her holding up an AK in the news pushing her agenda.

So then I assume Diane F, Barbra B. & Nancy P. couldn't influence the state in their current positions??? Works for me.

True, but Obama is Jimmy Carter (wannabee).

I am pretty sure that Jimmy Carter was the reason CA voted Republican back then, the fact that Reagan was a former governor helped some more.

+1 Could it be said any simpler? I guess some don't have the desire as others to keep what little gun rights we have or to make the future a bit brighter.

There are 4-5 NEW Supreme Court Justices Positions at stake. McCain already said he didn't like the 4 who voted against the 2nd Amendment. It's not just about the Presidency its about the future for most of our lifetime. These are lifetime positions being appointed here.

We could have the 2nd Amendment reinterpreted and NO More Guns for you, me and our children. Only the criminals will have them, do you want to be a criminal for possession? Lets ask England or Australia how they feel now.

+10 on that. It is about our 2A Rights and our childrens 2 A Rights. Even if you don't like McCain, ]the other ticket will take those rights away. Wake up people........... We have waited since the 1930's to get the SCOTUS to vote our way. Let's not blow this one.

What he said was the 'four most liberal' justices. In this case they are the same, but as a point of clarification McCain didn't mention the 2A IIRC.

It's not just about the Presidency its about the future for most of our lifetime. These are lifetime positions being appointed here.
Which is why both candidates pain me, as a libertarian-leaning individual. The type of justices McCain seems likely to nominate may be good for the 2A, but less so for other freedoms.

Obama would like to be considered civil liberty friendly, but Biden was a poor VP choice in that regard* and Obama doesn't like Thomas, who is the closest thing the court has (IMO) to a judicially-responsible libertarian.

*Bills he has introduced or sponsored include a proto-PATRIOT Act following the Oklahoma City bombings and bills that are antagonistic to privacy (i.e. encryption and consumer media rights).

I will vote for McCain because the alternative is so much worse than what gunowners have seen in the past.
As to the original question, voting for a 3rd candidate can make a difference. Anyone remember Roberti in a tight race for reelection and ended up winning because a third candidate drew away enough votes from the Republican candidate?
It can happen at the national level if someone like Ron Paul, who has no chance of winning, pulls enough Republican votes away to let Obama take some close states.

Nobama is a empty suit and the majority of Kalifornian's are just as dumb. Who knows though, maybe we can pull a Florida, so get out and push the vote for McCain.
