Why is Rimfire exempt? (From AWB - it isn't, always)

I'm actually really curious why our insensible, irrational and illogical overlords legislators even bothered leaving rimfire weapons exempt from our AWB laws.

Is there any particular reason or precedent for it?

Rimfires are NOT exempt from handgun or shotgun AW laws. Rimfires were not exempt from the now sunsetted Federal AW ban. As far as CA Aw laws go, I have always wondered why rimfires were expressly exempt from Ca Rifle AW laws.

It's because they ban what they can get the votes to ban now. If they can't ban A+B+C because too many people like C, they'll ban A+B, and hope to come back for C later.

Same reason every anti-gunner, ever, has loudly claimed to support the rights of hunters and sportsmen.

They wouldn't have gotten enough votes to pass it out of the legislature, if it included rimfire rifles.

Any exemption for rimfire is temporary. Don't be fooled.
