    Off list lower paper trail??????

Does the state know who has these? Rumors say that if a cop runs your name they can tell if you have OLLs? I always thought that the DROS paperwork only stated the sale was for a Long Gun. What is the truth to this?

There is no registration of long arms in CA. The only papertrail is the DROS and it only tells whoever is reading it that it is a long arm. LE can however run checks on registered AWs and handguns.

The system LE uses is AFS, of which only handguns and registered AW's exist.

I know about registration........But I heard that the DOJ is now auditing FFLs and finding out who has bought OLLs.

They've always audited FFL's but I highly doubt they are recording every OLL from every 4473. It would be extremely time consuming. They are legal so there isn't anything beneficial by having the information.

There's always a paper trail. The disposition a dealer keeps, along with the 4473's and DROS paperwork links you to the retailer with several copies of what you bought, where you live, etc. It can be traced all the way back to where the original forging was made.

But as has been stated above, it's all legal, so why would "they" bother? Unless you do something illegal with the gun, there's no reason you would fall under a microscope.

I know during the first off load of OLL @ 10% the DOJ was trying to get names from Wes but he told them if they listed them he would send out the letters to have them Reg'd.

Im sure they have started a few lists of OLL owners but safety in numbers kept them from sending brownshirts...er ATF/DOJ to our doors.

This may be a dumb question, but how do they know it's an OLL, as the DROS form just says "longgun"?

How many times do we have to go over this?

www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.
