Ask Smith and Wesson/Ruger to halt LEO sales.

    Folks,

I will be calling Smith and Wesson and Ruger to advise them to stop sales to LEO agencies in Commiefornia. If the guns are not safe for us, they are not safe for the LEOS in this state. A2

Ask Smith and Wesson and Ruger, businesses who's primary goal is to make money, to stop sales to LEO agencies - their last customers in Commiefornia?

I'm sorry, and I agree with the sentiment and all the reasons why, but they're not going to put the ideals and fundamentals of the 2A above making money - as a business.

Cops use Sigs and Glocks for the most part. They won't miss S&W or Ruger.

It's happened in other parts of the country. I don't think it would be impossible. I am sure civilian sales account for more of the LEO sales in most states including CA. I think the same can be said about any manufacturer.

Ruger I would agree on. The S&W M&P line has been gaining popularity in CA LEAs.

For example, the LA County Sheriffs Dept. recently signed a 5-year contract with S&W for the M&Ps. They have around 13,000 of 18,000 personnel who are issued handguns.

Do Agency contracts go through manufacturers or through dealers? I know there are a number of dealers that specialize in this area and sell the trade ins.

Smith & Wesson is working very hard to get California Law Enforcement business. A number of Departments are going to/have gone to the M&P.

I agree... I'm glad Barett did it but I doubt Ruger or M&P will.

Exactly. Don't think they're just gonna sit back and be OK with lost business - they'll look to replace it.

I'll repeat the important part for everyone.

Because the sooner the LEOs/Unions are no longer backing anti-civil rights legislation, the sooner said legislation goes away and then S&W and Ruger can come flooding back to a very hungry market.

http://oag.ca.gov/sites/oag.ca.gov/f...ms/removed.pdf each week for a list published by the California Department of Justice of the handguns no longer on the roster.
California firearms dealers should check the official California Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale frequently, to determine which handguns are certified for sale in California. This list can be found at http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/.

Sure, of course that's the ideal way for things to go.
I just think it's a bit of a gamble and a flip of the coin for the mfrs to make, and won't make lightly.

You would have better luck contacting every attorney in the state who is suing a police department over a shooting and asking them to include that the police use unsafe handguns.....

Why taunt Ruger and S&W for not being able to comply with fictional technology....

Is it too late to sue the inventor of MicroStamping for a civil rights violation?
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                          (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

And Sig is so hungry for the California market, no way will they back off.
