Unless something has majorly changed they don't have the votes. Never know though.

        I don't think so either.
But lets say your a legislator, and you vote to overide Brown, embarass him, a Governor of your own party, would you expect that Brown would support any bills you wrote? Seems like a stupid move.

I'm a little lost on the website: how do you see the agenda for next Monday?

Clicking "show agenda" on the Jan 27 page ( http://senate.ca.gov/calendar?start=...&end=1-27-2014 ) didn't cause anything to be displayed. Is there another means of accessing the agenda?

They have a supermajority, so they can override ALL of Brown's vetoes.

If they do that, it's time to lock and load, and take a little trip to Sacramento.

Please stop posting stuff like this. We've already discussed this exact issue 3-4 times these past few weeks.

Those bills were not dead just because Brown vetoed them (374). They automatically come up for review again. This is a scheduled thing and is normal.

There is absolutely ZERO chance of an override of a Brown veto.

What they will do is modify the language and re-introduce as a new bill this year. Their hope is to make changes that would be more to the governor's liking in hopes he signs the new version.

I'm more worried about Yee's SB47. Jerry isn't in favor of banning "hunting rifles", but EBR-type guns? I wouldn't bet on another veto there...

I didn't know that veto'd bills automatically come up for review the following year.

So if they decide to resubmit or modify and then resubmit, does it require a new bill number (like a new bill altogether) or do they just resurrect the old one?

Has a bill that has been vetoed ever been over ridden in modern CA political history?

Or how how about vetoed bills that come back only slightly modifed and get signed into law by the Governor?

How unusual or possible is it?

They're not going to be happy until they criminalize every California gun owner. Then they're going to have quite an enforcement problem, aren't they?
