FBI probe could have fallout for state Democrats (update 12/6)

Interesting article/analysis from the OC Register relating to the FBI investigation of state senator Ron Calderon: FBI probe could have fallout for state Democrats

(OC Register articles normally have a pay wall, but this one is being made available to the public).

    My favorite part:

In documents filed last month in federal court, [Calderon] said the raid of his offices came after he refused FBI requests to wear a recording device and act as an informant against Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg of Sacramento and Sen. Kevin de Leon of Los Angeles, both fellow Democrats

As has been said, "Absolute power corrupts absolutely." We'll start seeing all sorts of nastiness come to light here in Calif. similar to the widespread and deep corruption in Latin American countries that have been locked in one-party rule for decades. Sadly, based on what we've seen in those countries, the response from the people has been underwhelming at best; they usually only barely manage to oust the corrupt one-party with yet another corrupt one-party. By then, corruption has become a way of life and has seeped into the souls of the people. Nobody they elect from then on will truly be good--there are too many entrenched thieves at all positions of power (mostly bureaucrats).

However, part of me knows that these guys could be in prison and the voters in these districts would still elect a Democrat regardless.

Exactly. There are plenty of gun grabbing statists to take the places of these 3.

Yes, but I am a lot less scared of rookie statists as opposed to ones like Steinberg and de Leon who have been at it a while and who know what they are doing.

The OC Register has a very small footprint and those that read the Register aren't (for the most part) Democrat voters. What's important to the Democrat power structure is that the major media outlets will do their very best to keep the Party from getting slimed just as they worked hard to keep Filthy Filner's scandal from sliming other Democrats. If one Republican says something dumb it's reported as a "Republican war on women", but if it's a Democrat pervert harassing women it's just a single bad apple - if it's reported at all. It's the same with corruption, if a single Republican is caught it's a "Republican culture of corruption", but if it's several high ranking Democrats it's just single bad apples - if it's reported at all.

The bottom line is this will not effect the imbalance of power in California.

The more dirt on the gun grabber the better. I hope we'll have some pro-gun candidates who can use the dirt.

                    Thanks for the link.

Too bad we don't have many candidates good enough to drive through a hole even this wide open. Most of the candidates that support our cause tend to veer off in to a tree no matter how much of an open road to election the other side gives them.

None-the-less, this could become an issue if a strong candidate comes up without this kind of baggage.

The problem is the influx of all the Latin / Mexican voters used to/ desensitized to corruption in their government coming here and bringing their UNAMERICAN values with them and voting those values or rather the lack there of.

There is a reason Mexico is the most corrupt political and economic system in the northern hemisphere. Instead of staying in Mexico and doing the hard work to fix/reform the system or have a very justfied revolution, they come here illegally and as they become legal, vote for and support the same kind of filth they grew up with back home...it's systemic for them and we are now letting it happen here.

The entire Calderon family has been/is corrupt. Its a family" thing
