    new personalized guns!

I know this has been talked about and i think its pretty cool.
as for realibility to early to tell.
i just don't like the fact that new jersey will make it a law to only allow these type of guns be sold.
And im sure Kali and others will follow suite.

unless you could program it for multiple users it would be worthless.( i didnt read it) but thats the first thing that comes to mind, like say an intruder knocks it out of your hand and then your wife picks it up and cannot fire it...... This cant be good.

I know one thing that will make my beautifully designed, mechanical work horse more safe and reliable. Introduce electronics.

**** me sideways, we can't be this stupid.

That is useless in a self-defense situation. Notice how you have to hold the weapon in your weak hand in order to use the fingerprint reader which on on the side of the grip on the 1911 model. I'm sure RFID can be jammed too, but in any case who's going to wear an RFID watch at all times? The RFID can also be used to find out which homes have firearms.

As a novelty, yes. As a requirement, no. Make that #@!! NO.

Notice that it's also the only handgun on the "recently added" list of the current CA roster. A technology like this, combined with the mandate, could completely stop handgun purchases. This is the *intended* "unintended consequence."

of course there's an LEO exemption to the NJ law. always is. just like the kali roster. best definition of tyranny, when laws don't apply equally.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

OP, are you serious? How could you like this idea? Electronics are notoriously unreliable in comparison the simple mechanics of guns. I am hoping to be long in the ground by the time this crap actually goes into effect, but our benevolent overlords will probably soon decide that this will solve all of society's gun problems.

                    "Pretty cool"

But don't go thinking you have to move to NJ to get the benefit of this awesome new technology, your California legislature will be bringing it here soon enough http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/fa...201320140SB293 - they have this little gem just sleeping quietly and ready to wake.

This was the case with a lot of things. The technology is a cool first step. Look how far cars have come from simple mechanical devices to what we have today. Guns can change and benefit from better technology....

But I agree with you, our law makers will do something STUPID with this thinking it is the savior of all things and put us on a prototype technology that is not ready for primetime.

Does this gun have microstamping? How did it get added to the roster if it does not?

Any rock climbers out there ready for an electronic belay device?

                          How about electronic ski bindings?

                          "Darn, where's that charger?"

"Did I remember to apply silicone to the o-rings?"

"Whoops, must have installed the battery upside down."

You trust your life in your car every day (most likely). Most new cars have the dull reliability of a washing machine (something also full of demon electronics). Air bags, collision sensors, adaptive steering etc.

The technology by itself is cool. I'm not saying we should roll it out, again, I re-iterate, it's not ready for primetime self defense. But one day it will be. No need to run around afraid of change or evolutions in products. Guns have evolved and will continue to evolve. What if an AR rifle could sense a stove pipe and clear the ejection malfunction before you could react? This would make the gun MORE reliable right? Not all electronics are bad.

Legislation REQUIRING these yet to be proven electronics, now THAT is bad IMHO.

                              Here's the good news...

Since it does not have micro-stamping it can never be sold in CA.

EDIT: well I see that it has already been added to the roster. What?
