I noticed an LA Times article criticizing Jerry Brown for his veto on SB374.
(Please forgive me for posting the link here.) George Skelton creates the false impression that the shooting of the TSA agent at LAX would not have happened if the Governor had vetoed SB374, among many other falsehoods in his opinion article.
I thought to myself as a good citizen I shouldn't let this opinion go unchallenged, so I sent off a brief e-mail expressing my dissatisfaction with his opinion. Shockingly I received a reply, conversation pasted in verbatim below:
John,
No, and you know you're wrong. A killer can't just as easily use a knife or a propane bomb.
As for the 2nd Amendment, this conservative, gun-friendly Supreme Court has ruled that governments have a right to regulate what guns can be owned.

George,
I don't agree with your piece on the Governor vetoing Senate Bill 374. Killers like the person at LAX could have just as easily used a knife, made a propane bomb or drove his car into the crowd and killed more people.
Remember, even pocket knifes are now outlawed in England. It's not the method, it's the person. I don't like you speaking out against my 2nd amendment rights.

Given his intelligent response I'm not inclined to waste more time in a battle of wits, but I thought if George has time to burn at work, perhaps some other Calgunners should entertain him and voice their opinion. Here is his address:

As a member of the old Liberal media, I can't wait until the Times loses enough money to finally collapse, like the Times on the other coast. More power to the new media led by patriot Matt Drudge.
