Off Topic Forum VS. California 2nd Amend. Political Discussion & Activism Forum

Something I find disconcerting here on Calguns.

Off Topic Forum: 114,468 Threads / 3,331,181 posts.

California 2nd Amend. Political Discussion & Activism Forum: 36,463 Threads / 1,001,287 posts.

Just sayin'. Seems like the past couple of days the California 2nd Amend. Political Discussion & Activism has been irrationally quiet, and the same people in and out of it, me included. I see very little to minimal activity and updates. I just don't see the traffic we should have such as had been realized during the OLL/OLR genesis several years ago, or in fighting SB249. In fact, of many conversations and threads that are afloat, many are very negative and apathetic, even pondering how wonderful it is to be submissive.

Almost seems business as usual, as if there were no hot-topic bills on Brown's desk at all - and the same people chiming in and trying to keep topics such as fighting these bills alive, again and again - of which I'm proudly guilty too. Common talk about these things among gun owners in person also seems rather subdued, uninformed - layered with capitulation.

With the last week to go, a Monday, I would think that this forum would outnumber much of the silly "off-topic" forum at a time like this. But what do we get?

    Well under par.

Maybe some people fear NSA reprisals once the house turns Dem next session and they ban guns a la Australia after the next psychoactive prescription drug induced rampage.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to searching my house for listening devices and mind control subsonic wave generators.

Could be Dr. order to avoid raising the blood pressure unnecessarily. Other than phone calls and donations, the wheels are in motion and die is pretty much cast is it not?

Then there is the fact of wanting to avoid tipping one's hand of potential response strategies...not that we've not been here before and the NRA hasn't recently telegraphed their intents.

There hasn't been much 2A news so far this week. Maybe this is the calm before the storm. Speaking for myself, I've written and I'm still calling the gov, but I've already spread the word to all the friends / coworkers that I can. I feel like everything that's been set in motion by this point is all that can be done...I'm waiting with bated breath to see what will come off Brown's desk.

Yeah, maybe. I think people need a second wind of some kind; calls, faxes, letters seems to take on a redundancy after a month of it, I do get your point.

I think the Benelli M4 Brandon helped pull together was a good ummph the past couple of weeks, but we need something new today, new motivation, this week, to help everyone cap this thing with a last-week gulch.

Calling, faxing, tweeting, and emailing. I think a lot more people know about this one than SB249 too. We are getting actual media coverage versus last year, and the NRA-ILA is digging in. This time it's somber and serious.

Since this forum is for just 1 topic, and the OT forum is for every topic humanity offers other than topics that have their own forum, I'm surprised OT doesn't have an even higher number in comparison.

Its also a little hard to keep making new threads second guessing what JB is going to do with the bills on his desk, which is what everyone in here is really waiting to see. Expect to see a fury of activity, including a lot of can't trust a dem, I told you so, and/or what do we do now threads when he finally puts pen to paper (or doesn't).

I need off topic after 2A consternation, especially photos
that make you laugh out loud...

I did my home work, life-ed up with NRA, CRPA, here,
                        helped the Assaulted Movie
5 letters off to The Governor this week,
still on their way in the Mail.

Hey I work for a living, too.

I think everyone who is going to do anything, already is. Any members who do not know about the bills on Brown's desk, haven't been paying attention.

You can only say "this is BS" so many times to the same group of like-minded people.

I am sending email, fax, letter and calling every day.

Now all we can do is just wait and see whether he vetos them or not.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

When the ball is in someone else's court and there is nothing you can do about it but call and write, why speculate? Speculation brings FUD. lies and misinterpretation.

I have never seen more fud, lies, and misinterpretation on this site more than in this session of the CA legislature.

Relax, write and call, have a sandwich and lets see what plays out AFTER the Governor does what ever it is he will do. Its called a process.
