Oh please, man, this sentiment is so laughable, I just shake my head each time I read it.
1. This is a public forum, EVERYTHING is talked about. And on top of that, it is a gun forum, what do you think is going to be talked about? Yes, all manor of gun topics. And yes, all manor of gun issues that people want to sort out what they mean, their impact and their effect. So naturally, all facets are covered.
2. Do you really, truly think that the people that write laws cannot figure out all of the angles themselves and somehow, the smartest people in the world are here on this gun forum shining a light on loopholes any 10th grader could think of, but yet they somehow missed? Please. We may not like lawmakers, we may not like the laws, you may call them idiots and whatnot, but it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out what the loopholes are to any current, future, past law - like SB 53. Shhhhh don't tell them we may go over the border to buy ammo because yeah, that never ever crossed their mind
Don't tell them about 80% lowers because yeah, they never understood what an 80% lowers real value was until they came here?
3. The title makes no sense "It is NOT SAFE to talk yet" Yet? As in sometime soon it will be safe to talk? Where is the logic there? So don't talk now because they might see something they somehow missed (see #2) but it will be okay to talk in the future because they will somehow miss that same talk then?
Keep you eye on the ball people.Last edited by glock_this; 09-10-2013, 12:20 PM.10 +1 in the chamberComment

Seriously, our rulers are idiots. They have gotten stuff through multiple committees which have horrified the leadership when they were informed of what the law(s) would do.

We have benefited from keeping our mouths shut until it was too late to gut and amend and then in the last minutes of a legislative session tell the leadership that the law they are about to bring up for a vote was going to do something which would outrage every fascist in the legislature and possibly lose them their jobs. The one I'm thinking about right now left the author dumbfounded that they wouldn't allow the vote on her bill after she'd lined up all the votes - but CGF/NRA had just told the leadership about the poison-pill in the thing and they just sneered at her as the bill died.
Unfortunately, the next year they fixed that poison-pill. . . But we got a one year extension on a least a portion of our freedom because we shut up. And yeah, I'm no lawyer or politician and I had that one figured out with just a brief review of the bill.
We have people who are nearly complete morons in Sacramento. Don't help them out.CGN's token life-long teetotaling vegetarian. Don't consider anything I post as advice or as anything more than opinion (if even that).Comment

Not to mention that these bills are gone over by lawyers.

you could possibly be right, if what you are suggesting couldnt happen hadnt already happened many times before2. lawyers miss things all the time too, they are human, not to mention not likely to be complete experts on the ins and outs of firearms (maybe the laws of firearms, but not firearms themselves)Comment

Yes I do truly believe that the DNC'ers drafting this legislation have little clue about firearms and what the possibilities of work arounds are. What possible reason do you have to believe they are competent? If they were competent, they'd be firearm enthusiasts, and thus NOT a DNC gun taker."still clinging to God and Guns...."Comment

I don't believe nor have ever believed that "we help them out" by merely talking about any and all gun related issues. Heck, if you don't they have won even more and they get you to censor yourself and your thoughts out of some fear that they might read what you say and benefit from it.Seriously, our rulers are idiots. No, they are not total idiots like we want to say. You/we/I just don't like them & what they are doing. Does not mean they are "idiots" and cannot think logically. You have to be somewhat smart to get into those positions, smart enough to think above a high school level. They just don't care, and move forward with their agenda given their interests. But some members think - not saying you - that we come up with the most amazing concepts they would never have thought of them and somehow putting them here sheds light on the angels they never saw.
Anyone averagely intelligent person can read some of these laws and legislation and immediately see the potential loopholes. If you/we can then they can and talking about them does not expose some amazing light to where the lawmakers are like "oh my God, we never thought of that".
And BTW, some here who say "keep your mouths shut" will be the same people in some other thread who contradict themselves by saying, "we should ....". And in the end, if 1 member does not bring up a topic another will. This is the beauty of an open forum and how are you really going to police that?10 +1 in the chamberComment

we should focus the debate/efforts on defeat these bills as they are being proposed, not how to live with them..."What the hell happened to land of the free and home of the brave???"

Show me please. List them out here. I want to see proof of where it is a proven fact that some chatter in a gun forum directly lead to a change in a law. Not innuendo it happened, not guesses it happened, not theories it happened, proof it happened.
Oh man.. you are just hating to hate. Somehow, every gun owner is a genius but a politician that is anti 2A is an automatic dumb stupid idiot?Yes I do truly believe that the DNC'ers drafting this legislation have little clue about firearms and what the possibilities of work arounds are. What possible reason do you have to believe they are competent? If they were competent, they'd be firearm enthusiasts, and thus NOT a DNC gun taker.
The simple fact is, a lot of you throw around junk like "idiot" "stupid" "dumb" and you are just venting, but the reality of it is, you could not really be that stupid and get those positions and as I have said, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out the angeles. If some of the guys around here whose posts I have read can figure it out on 1 reading of a piece of legislation, then be rest assured they can as well.
Again, people need to keep their eye on the ball - and fearing some "troll" is going to learn some amazing piece of new data from a gun forum is a waste of effort and time.10 +1 in the chamberComment

There is some serious stupidity that happens in Sacramento. We're talking people who believe they are brilliant and have no idea what they are doing at times.
I remember there was a Surgeon out of the Fresno area who went to Sacramento for a couple of years. Several years she put out some of the more entertaining stupidity from that year. Some of it was jaw-dropping stupid.
Unfortunately for us (but fortunately for her) she quit Sacramento and went to work on some resort island somewhere.
Yes, there are some smart people in Sacramento, but even some of the leadership is woefully deficient in the brains department. You can argue whether it is a lack of intellect, poor education, or a horrible lack of judgment - but we're talking some real stupid stuff.CGN's token life-long teetotaling vegetarian. Is it too early to talk about how micro-stamping turns your guns full-auto?sigpic
Vote for pro-gun candidates, or lose your rights, and the rights of future generations. That's it. The end.
