Where are the manufacturers in this fight?

With things like complete bans on centerfire semi-autos and "high cap" magazines on the horizon, does anyone know what the manufacturers that stand to lose millions in sales of firearms and accessories are doing about what is happening in CA?

Companies like Smith and Wesson and Ruger have links on their websites to contact representatives, but from what I can tell, that's all they're doing. What about California manufacturers like JD Machine, etc.? There have been no mention of the bills on their Facebook page or website. No "clicktavism".

I did meet Ken from Phase 5 Tactical in Roseville, who stands to go out of business in SB374 becomes law, and I know he has been at the capital on several occasions.

You'd think more manufacturers would be raising hell in Sacramento right now as the financial impact of these laws is going to be tremendous. Perhaps there are things going on in the background?

I would think Ruger would get involved as a large percentage of their Mini 14/30 sales are from California and that would end if these bills go through.

We are talking about them loosing millions.

Your right, JD Machine and Franklin would have to leave the state if these new laws pass.

All of the big name manufacturers have been selling boatloads of AR pattern rifles and receivers too since everyone wants to be hip and own an AR-15 now. The more people that get them, the more of their friends want them.

That whole market could dry up.

If they think that California is a profitable marketplace, they could be developing a big bore rimfire rifle.

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim -- when he defends himself -- as a criminal. Bastiat
