any Democrat districts vulnerable to a recall?

    ala CO: http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...-colorado.html

Be nice if we could break the super majority that is able to rob millions of citizens of the Bill of Rights.

Could this not be one answer to this tyranny going on?

no, not really...it would be nice, but, the majority of the sheeple in California love their Democrats

recalls only work if you can muster up enough people to oust them, or, once in a great while, one might do something so scandalous, but, short of molesting a 14-year old, they are pretty much anchored in

I'd volunteer to help out but what district? Maybe Bera. Yeah that would be a good one. He barely beat out anti gun republican Dan Lungren.

I would hope that NRA/CGF/CRPAF whatever could focus some funds in one or more of such districts and rally people together and get that done, or at the next election, but signal it NOW, and have that Democrat back off from voting as part of the supermajority, knowing he/she will lose their job in the next election.

Or maybe this is a complete fantasy.

            True, but remember Gray Davis?

If the word could get out that all these dems voted for MORE murder, rape and child molesters (i.e. more gun control), plus they are looking at getting rid of prop 13 because kamala refused to defend a prop voted in by voters. After getting rid of 2A that is next on their list.
Gun control is a 1" group at 500 yds!

Two rules of politics in California:

1.) You will never recall a California politician. Both parties collaborated to carve up safe districts and the Republicans traded permanent minority status for permanent seats.

2.) A Republican will never replace a Democrat in a Democrat district. Never gonna happen.

However, having said that, California now operates under a "Top Two Primary" system that offers unlimited opportunity for mischief and is precisely why both parties hate it.

What it does is offer the minority party is an opportunity to knock off senior legislators. The Republicans were able to get rid of Fortney Stark in CA-15 like that and he became the second-longest serving U.S. Congressman to ever lose a general election. Next up they may be able to dump Mike Honda by getting behind Ro Khanna in CA-17. This is a long term strategy built around the concept that, in a system that runs on seniority, it is better to have a freshman in a seat than a 7 term incumbent.

This is where California gun owners might be able to be spoilers. So we trade a NRA D rated politician for a C. It is incremental progress, that's how we lost our gun rights and it might be how we can take them back.

Such a strategy requires focus on and participation in local political races. It requires a carefully crafted strategy of being active in a primary election to ensure our desired candidate faces the incumbent in the general and then joining with that candidates supporters and the incumbents opponents (not always the same) to dump the incumbent.

What it also requires is absolute camouflage of who we are and why we are supporting. California's urban concentrations are overwhelmingly anti-gun and anti-hunting and that's not gonna change anytime soon. We might even find it beneficial to draw attention to the fact that an anti was unable to pass anti-gun legislation. If we want to try this we have to not discuss 2A, gun rights and shooting. No NRA T-shirts, hats or bumper-stickers. We may have to cooperate with people we find personally offensive but if we want to effect some change and get some of the more egregious anti-gunners out of public office in California this may be our best hope.

Here's a link to an article on the Honda vs Khanna race that discusses the top two primary.

@rp55, exactly... the smart money should go into this type of strategy.

If I saw this being done in a clever way, I'd put some real money behind this.

You all realize that every Rep. in the house/senate in CA could vote TWICE and a third of the Dems could stay home and not vote, and the bill would STILL get passed. That is how badly outnumbered the Reps are in CA.

It is Sepember 2013, and we are 13 months and a few day away from the next election.

Instead of wasting time, energy and resources on a recall put them into recruiting solid candidates to WIN elections. Start mustering together the campaign money it takes to beat unions that will spend $150 million in the election cycle on liberals that will pay them more no matter what - and could care less about 2A stances.

in 13 months there won't be a shred of 2A rights left in this state, and many 2A voters may have left or already planning to leave the state.

I don't understand intimately the politics in California, and I am shocked at the claim by CAL.BAR above (I hope he's way off base), but it does look like this state is gone down the Progressive rat hole a long way, and Repubs indeed are clearly powerless in the short and long term.

It sure would be nice if people could learn the difference between State Legislators and Federal Representatives.

Bera is Federal. I'll be supporting Elizabeth Emken to replace Bera in Congress next year. She is speaking at the 2A rally this Saturday.

We should look at ousting Cooley from the state Assembly. He,s no friend of the 2nd Amendment.

The 2nd Amendment is not about hunting or competition shooting. It's all about your inalienable rights to life and liberty.

I will say it again: pick ONE race statewide fir state legislature and focus ALL of our resources towards changing ONE seat from anti to pro.

We have to do something to make them fear us at the ballot box.

Next, we must start a PAC. Call it The Civil Rights PAC. Use funds to turn that ONE seat.

                            Exatly

I would be more active than that; I would shoot for one in the State Senate and Two in the State Assembly.

We desperately need a number of seats not just one.

FYI that will run you about $5 million maybe $10 million.

If we had a competent voter turn out, anything could be possible.
