    Off-Roster U Non-CA Registered Handgun PPT Question

So searching the forums I see a lot about off-roster handguns, SSE for off-roster, PPT's, and non-voulentaritly registered firearms, but not all combined.

What is the feasibility of a off-roster handgun, already in California but not voulentarily registered with Cal DOJ being sold in a PPT? If allowed, does it need to done as an SSE?

    Thanks

PPTs are exempt from the roster.

That part I think I gathered, but can it even be done with an FFL, if the pistol was never "voluntarily" registered with DOJ? Or does it become registered when it is DROS'd?

past registration history of the handgun normally does not matter. Just meet at the FFL to do the PPT DROS and you'll be fine. It'll be registered to the new owner at the conclusion of the DROS.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

It becomes registered to the transferee as part of a successful transfer.

As for the fact that it is not currently registered, that is probably not an issue as long as there are no other complications. That has been the general consensus here.

This is simple . Any handgun that is physically in Ca can be sold by a Ca resident to another Ca resident via PPT. As long as it was not reported stolen or is wanted by authorities. the registration or importation history of that handgun is not relevant.
