Dan Walters is a good man. Sac county is a lot different than the Bay Area or LA. The average citizen has a better chance of getting a CCW there than SF or LA (essentially 0 chance)

I'm not willing to admit the minority aspect in order to earn the "protected class" designation. I still believe we are the silent majority, and we have the guns.

for as long as i have been paying very close attention to gun laws in this state and STATISTS who author and vote for them these laws have been by design to harass the lawful use in the use of firearms.

the majority of gun laws written in this state have very little to do with crime fighting or stopping criminals from getting guns they have everything to do with trapping gun owners.

and this has been happening since Roberti-Roos was pushed by the most corrupt legislators in California history.

sad to say it will continue to happen with the entitlement socitey this state continues to endorse and grow here.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

I like the fact that he reminded his readers that the right to bear arms is specifically mentioned in the Constitution.

            Good article with an exception:

"...they can make legal gun ownership so expensive and full of petty hassles that shooters will just give up on their hobbies."

Building model airplanes is a hobby. Firearms ownership is a civil right.

Funny you should mention this. Yes, there is a difference. But the sad thing is, IMO the right to pursue a hobby often has no less value than any other right.

The hobby of model rocketry is on it's last legs in CA. I don't have to tell you why; you all know how the song and dance of regulation works in the name of "public safety" or "the children" or "fighting terrorism".

The term "rocket scientist" used to mean something. It was an intellectual pursuit worthy of admiration. The space race inspired a generation of brilliant scientists, many of whom were avid model rocket enthusiasts in their childhood. CA is so determined to "think of the children" that it is forgetting about the children.

                        Clarifies it a bit.

Thanks for posting this article. Saw it this morning but was on the road so couldn't post it. Very well written and logical article, pointing out the hypocrisy and misguided priorities (IMO) of the Dem party here. Every member of our legislature should read this, I'm sure most will. Sadly, the Dems are so full of themselves and their 'mission' that they won't be able to see what we can plainly with our own eyes, their double standard to the point of absurdity.
"I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them."

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.
