Executive orders replace congress and court

Yesterday, our President issued two executive orders on gun control, while five warships (each a flotilla with supporting assets) lay in the Mediterranean Sea and wait for his word. A "shot over the bow", he calls it. There are some though, whom consider it an act of war. The fact that Russia, China and Iran have allied is cause enough for concern, but that's another matter. The U.K. isn't prepared to commit, and who knows if France is sure. But that isn't what's important, I believe we may have entered into a new "Tepid War", that could heat up quickly. Let us not be so arrogant to presume we cannot be over-run by foreign powers.

To my first point, I am in opposition to both executive orders. The order that restricts ownership of trusts and corporations is ill conceived and in violation of existing case law. On the order that bans the importation and re-patriation of military firearms, the President has behaved criminally. From the establishment of our Constitution and through numerous court rulings, the right of the people to keep and bear arms has been held to a high standard. Roughly, Every American Citizen may own firearms that have been used by a soldier in an army. Under the duress of "gangs" and Depression Era government expansion / encroachment, laws were enacted that restricted concealable and automatic firearms. "Mufflers" or silencing devices were added, as none of these were considered belonging to the common soldier.

Are the tens of thousands M1s in South Korea the target? Those are ours. If South Korea no longer needs them, we deserve them back. They've each been paid for more than once and they should be given back to the States proportionately, for distribution to the citizens.

Agree, but what can we do about it?

Piss and moan. That's about it.

Obama has many ways to ruin our shooting rights without going through Congress. With a man in charge of the ATF,we can look forward to years of having our rights throttled like a bird in the grip of a Boa Constrictor. Form A, Regulation B, Rule C, Criterion D, and bans via Executive and End-Agency Order will be the name of the game until 2014.....where, for the sake of ourselves and our children, the Dems WONT win the House.

President has been able to ban the importation of various firearms on a whim since 1968. Congress not needed.

No executive orders were issued. He is proposing executive actions. Big difference.

And no, I won't spell it out for you. Look it up yourself.

As last I checked, this was what I had also thought. Contemplating only; I have also seen numerous posts declaring he had already signed the UN arms treaty, and more, none of which are the case.

If these were actually issued, it's news I haven't heard yet until now. I would think it would ahve been bigger news than a post from a guy with only 13 posts on Calguns, no offense.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

There doesn't seem to be much difference between "executive orders" and "executive actions" or "Presidential Memorandums".

Our media, as well as our government use the terms interchangeably all the time. For instance, Obama and the media claim he issued "23 executive orders" on January 16th, in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, when he in fact issued 23 "executive actions". Basically, it doesn't matter much if he issued executive orders or executive actions since they will be enforced either way.

As far as the two "executive actions" the OP mentioned, they were both issued yesterday, according to Obama, Biden and the media, although some media outlets are calling them executive orders and some are calling them executive actions. Others state he announced that he intends to sign these executive orders.

Either way, they are just more BS that takes another chunk out of the 2nd Amendment and if they are enforced it doesn't really matter what they're called.

President Obama ordered two more executive actions Thursday to restrict guns, banning the re-importation of military surplus firearms to private entities and proposing a regulation that would close a loophole in background checks.

BTW, ya'll are way too obsessed with post counts on this forum. It's really comical the way so many people on this forum equate post count to knowledge or I.Q. I've read through many old threads here and there are tons of insults directed at "newbies" because they don't have "enough" posts. Apparently some of you must believe that everyone just walked around in a cloud of ignorance and stupidity before the invent of CalGuns.

So what is the exact number of posts a person needs to "fit in" with the CalGuns clique and be considered knowledgeable enough not to be attacked because they don't have enough posts?

And before ya'll attack me for my post count, this is just a tongue in cheek observation on my part.

Danno2, hang around here awhile. There are so many drive-by trolls it gets old. So, few will tolerate what a low post newbie says, especially if it can be construed as inflammatory or questionable.

There are also a bunch of anti-gunners pretending to be conservative gun owners on this board. The enemy is amongst us. And much of the irrational stuff being posted by supposed gun-owners comes from low post count individuals. After they get called-out they usually disappear. Then they likely re-register under a new name after they've been exposed. But many still stick around with big post counts despite being outed, but they're usually ignored.

So welcome aboard and good post. I suspect in no time you'll be suspicious of low post counts too.

I understand about libtard trolls. I've belonged to a few other forums for many years, all firearm related or prepping related. Lots of libtard trolls on those also, but they are so much fun to argue with that I kinda like 'em to post sometimes. They usually go away when confronted with facts. Facts make great libtard repellant.

The best thing to accompany a low post count is a lack of concern about what others think about forum post statistics.

We have entered into an " Imperial Presidency" regretfully only democrats believe in govt without limits .

When the pendulum swings back, I may encourage my guy to do the same thing and reverse everything done by the "Imperial President "
Could be lots of fun. Have ATF give NFA stuff to so called militias aka fast and furious .
Promote IRS to target democrat donors and groups .
Appoint a racist AG who hated every ethnicity but his own and refuses to prosecute law breakers of his race.
Give muli billion grants to arms company's aka solyndra .
Yup just thinking about it could be lots of fun!

Danno thanx for including links to validate your points !
Our 5 th column Calgunners will of course challenge the source, but not the conclusion .
