I wish we had people like Joel in my area.

I went to the public safety hearing when all these bills were being voted on and Anderson opposed every single bill and even made some comments about how he wished guns shows were right around the corner from his house ( in reference to the cow palace bill )

      He is on our side

Except when he isn't. Like when it's convenient not to be.

Dont be extremist. The guy co authored a bill that takes dros money to pay for irrelevant stuff, but that doesnt mean he is anti 2A.
Im not saying I agree with his positikn on sb140, as a matter of fact, i dont.
But that doesnt make the guy an ANTI2A.

Let's see what your opinion is when the DROS fee goes up to $75 - $100. With "friends" like this who needs enimies?

I dont think anyone here has an issue with guns being removed from those who are legitimately prohibited.......it's that manner in which they chose to pay for this enforcement program that's the issue.

The cost of enforcement shouldn't be put solely on legal gun owners, to the tune of now taxing the exercise of a fundamental right.

Yea.....ditto this.....I'm suprised they didn't include an increase in DROS fees with the bill.

At a time when the DOJ is seriously understaffed and behind on processing DROS apps to not first address their understaffing which those funds are supposed to pay for, but then to redirect those monines elsewhere is just an egregious violation of public trust.

And then people wonder why we are against universal background checks. Why? Because this is what happens when you place the Gov't as gatekeeper to the exercise of a fundamental right. They will engage in all manner of delay and deceit to deny you your rights.

Perhaps they should have at least included an ammendment that said DOJ has only 10 days to process your purchase. If it not completed in the alotted 10 days then it is AUTOMATICALLY approved. But a system that now allows for indefinite delays and an unrestrained ability to increase costs is a basically outright tyranny IMO.

                You would be surprised...

Look, in my opinion Joel was wrong to co-sponsor SB-140. I was confused and disappointed. I don't know what kind of backdoor handshakes took place but I wouldn't be surprised if Joel and whomever had a quid pro quo arrangement. I'm not even saying that to be cynical. It is life in community not just politics in the capitol.

Brandon, I have the utmost respect for you and your work. You are a true man of principled conviction and the force to propel that conviction to action.

That being the case, I can't on the one hand disagree with Joel on this and on the other hand say, "Throw the bum out". It's a cutting off our nose to spite our face type of thing.

Thank you for your tireless work for our rights Brandon. Much respect and admiration.

As outnumbered as gunowners already are in this state......we just can't afford this kinda crap from someone who was supposedly on our side. I am just absolutely disappointed by this.

can't get a real take on this one

One thing is for sure, if I ever got that type of letter from DiFi I would probably keel over dead from a massive heart attack...damn, she should consider that, she could get rid of all of us

on the other hand, this whole "mentally ill" thing could end up taking on a ugly life of its own...lots to be considered when we back that issue...such a slippery slope we ride
