And just about everyone on that committee is a gun hater. Look at who the Chairman is.

So 299 means that if I go on vacation for a week, get robbed and a crime is committed with one of my firearms it is my fault?

Wouldn't 293 be the gov forcing you to buy a product? We have a right, they force you to pay for something in order to exercise that right.

108 means what exactly? I have to keep my firearms locked up and my house locked up if I own said firearms? If I take them out to show someone in my home and they decide to complain does that mean that I had an unlocked firearm? Does it also mean that a LEO with probable cause could enter my house to check on the locked status?

These are some screwed up laws and unconstitutional! LEO's who enforce them will be just as bad because they will be violating their oath to uphold and protect the constitution as well, IMO these politicians need to be arrested right now for even proposing unconstitutional laws

This wins the Darwin Award for the current crop of bills. It is saying we must all use "owner recognized technology" Think James Bond where to only he can use his weapon. It doesn't exist and the author of the bill has admitted as such.. Giant waste of taxpayers dollars on this one.

It's not about safety, it's about punishing gun owners.

Yep, your guns will be useless since it's locked up when you'll really need it. That's the point of all these law. Your safety and the safety of your family doesn't matter, it's about making owning a firearm as much of a burden as possible.

293 is so constitutionally off the chart its not even a worry... the problem is, the rest of them will pass flying colors.

even if 293 made it across the floor, i would imagine there's no way in hell thats gonna hold up to court...

5 Dems and 2 Repubs on committee.

                  Any guess to the outcome?

there is no guess we know the outcome. it will pass strictly along party lines as usual.

Senate Bill 108 (Yee) requires mandatory locked storage of firearms within a locked house regardless of whether anyone is present.
is it me or is Yee so ignorant that IIRC Heller made this requirement unconstitutional?

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Despite the futility of it, I was going to write to urge them to oppose these bills. Various emails I’ve received from the NRA and others include email links, but there aren’t any pre-written emails like I get from the GOA.

Why don’t I just write one on my own? Well, worse comes to worse, I will, but my message of “Oppose these bills because they’re stupid and anyone who supports them is a fascist” would likely be deleted after being barely skimmed over.

So, does anyone know of anything that provides professionally written and sounding messages? Even the “one-click action center” at the CAL NRA only opens a blank email without even a subject line...

I can be reasonably articulate in person, but writing in a manner likely to be noticed by politicians is a skill I lack...

Hookers and shoplifting are also illegal, but that doesn't stop him.

In reference to SB108, how are you supposed to defend your life and the lives of your family members if the necessary tool in doing so is locked up in a safe?
