i agree with the gents comments above.. should stay away from the politcal aspect, but be ready if they other side brings it up.. stay closer to what draws the emotions of the crowd you are debating to.. you can't always sway a person with the law, but if you appeal to the peoples feelings, there is where you can sway the argument into your favor... unfortunately a debate is basically a popularity contest of opinion.. but you can strengthen your opinion with facts to support them.
