Political Warfare against firearms - Where's the ammo? WND's answer

I'm a relatively new gun owner (mid 2012). I definitely do not meet the profile most people have of a gun owner. Yet, I'm pretty well versed (only when compared to the average American) on the underlying reasons the 2nd Amendment exists and the historical ramifications of heavy handed firearms/weapons control by a government. Along with the fact I'm as far away from being political as one can be (I can't really give an explanation between the differences of a Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative), it's painfully clear the U.S. Government has a pre-planned path of controlling all firearms...something that will lead to full firearm registration and possibly confiscation overtime, possibly years. Based on all the news I've seen over the years, it seems the powers-that-be, higher on the food chain than your average politician, have organized most Democratic politicians to regulate firearms. It seems odd, common histortical facts and statistics are being ignored by well-educated individuals (not all of them are obviously) to wage political warfare, even to the point of having news media outlets lie, to brainwash people.

It's to a point we're ignoring more important issues (something someone else wrote):

-75% of all weapons sales in the world is done by the U.S., which has led to the death toll of millions possibly.
    - From the arms sales, the U.S. makes possibly over 100 billion dollars, more than what all the U.S. citizens spend on firearms.
    - Deficit is at 16 Trillion, over 200 trillion if you include liabilities
    - Federal, State, City governments want to give Amnesty to illegal immigrants. If I commit a Federal crime, and say it's for a better life, I get 20 years in a federal prison. An illegal immigrant gets food, housing, education, etc. If the United States is considered our 'HOME', why on Earth woud you let someone stay in your home after breaking in to it?
    - Federal, State, City pensions, some citys are on the verge of bankruptcy. How can a system which allows a head librarian retire at $125,000 for the rest of their lives? The rest of us are stuck with our 401k.
    - Drones patrolling U.S. airspace to watch us
    - Other countries are using gold instead of U.S. dollars to buy oil (petrodollar)

    etc..etc....

Its taking years - decades - for the above issues to be addressed, but only months to limit our gun rights. Per WND, they're even going after the ammo.

Something seems very very odd about this....

To be honest, if I had to come up with a strategy to handle the fact overpopulation is having more of a negative impact on this planet, the prosperity of other countries are increasing (countries are developing trade agreements and excluding the U.S.), I too would plan in advance for civil unrest brought up by economic turmoil, inflation, possible food rationing, etc..etc...

I think NRA needs a marketing team made up of young hipsters to politically and socially turn things around. (I have an idea I'm considering to help.)

So what prompted you to buy your first gun? Anyway, the point you make about other issues remaining unresolved while gun control moves forward isn't exactly accurate because gun control at a federal level isn't moving along well, either. It's the states like California that are implementing stringent gun controls. If only it was just the Feds we had to deal with.

Critical thinking requires observing facts, objective evaluation, drawing conclusions, and finally forming opinions. Prejudiced and bigoted thinking consists of first accepting an ideology, and then attempting to view facts in a way that supports that ideology while denying or ignoring facts that contradict it.
Marxism/Communism/Fascism/Socialism/Liberalism survives solely on an appeal to the emotions; it requires the suspension of reflective contemplation and rational thought.
There are those for whom political ideology is more important than truth.
If you like your Constitution you can keep your Constitution; if you like your guns you can keep your guns, period.

WND is worth reading - and worth remembering that it isn't all that rare that they get it wrong.

In this case, the net effect is that the actual ammunition acquisitions are such that it does not look like federal ammunition acquisitions are causing the current ammunition shortage.

It is Obama's gun-grabbing policy and various states threatening to require licensure to even purchase ammo which are driving the sales of firearms and ammunition through the roof.

I mean, just think about it. You go into your favorite firearms store and you don't see any ammo on the shelf and you blame the feds? Remember that there aren't any pistols or rifles on the shelf, either. It isn't that the fed is buying all the pistols and rifles.

Fear, anger, determination, and speculation are driving sales of firearms and ammunition to the citizenry through the roof.

The Obama administration in general has caused much of the problem because of their policies, but it has not been directly because of the DHS ammunition purchase.

There is, however, an indirect effect of the DHS purchases. Because multiple sources have spread the word that the DHS is trying to buy up all the ammo it has caused an even greater perception that we need to purchase and hoard all the ammo we can possibly get.

If you think about it, it really is quite interesting. The gun-grabbers have inadvertently driven the greatest arming of the citizenry ever.

One other thought? Our politicians tell us that it is just ridiculous to even consider deporting 11 million illegal aliens. They just don't have the resources to send them all back to their homes.

But they seem to have the idea that they are going to be able to somehow get rid of hundreds of millions of firearms? 'Tis a little bizarre.

If you are lumping together Marxism/Communism/Fascism/Socialism/Liberalism then perhaps you need a a bit more reflective contemplation and rational thought.

Actually, the research I have seen says that both extremes of the political spectrum run on emotion rather than reflective contemplation and rational thought and the more extreme a person's views are the more likely they are to dismiss any evidence which contradicts their beliefs.

Actually, Communism, Fascism, and Socialism were all segments of fascism (note the little "f" to distinguish from Italian Fascism). And modern Liberals/Progressives share a common past and a large part of their ideology with those movements.

Important to remember that our Liberals loved Woodrow Wilson - who had his Brown Shirts before Hitler did.

Also important to remember that our Liberals/Progressives had little to no problem with Hitler and his ilk until after Pearl Harbor.
