After Boston - national gun control push forgotten? ** Google Trends update

Here are two links to Google Trends, showing the frequency of web searches for the term "gun control":

    2004-Present

    Past 90 days

As I write this (4/20), the end of both graphs spike sharply upwards.

Check again in coming weeks to see if people are still so interested.

they are still in shock from the loss in the senate. the Brady campaigns facebook page is proof. they have stopped banning pro gun comments and now all they are doing is asking people to send a text message to some number or donate money.

the few that tried to blame the Boston bombings on the second amendment looked crazy and did more harm to their misguided cause.

        Its not forgotten, just paused.

Largely because there's no credible way to associate this latest act of terrorism with the 2nd Amendment. Right now, the teenage Russian immigrant has replaced the angry white man gun owner as Public Enemy #1.

How is "Assault backpack" trending? perhaps "Jansport of war"
          "That's a good old-fashioned gun. Simple point-and-click interface."

Where are the repubs and their opportunist bills? We need to push through a pile of pro protection (guns) bills and see what sticks. Let's play the game and try to hammer through some quick laws for the children.

shut down visa's, citzenship apps, etc. - today's immigrant is tomorrow's terrorist. It won't stop homegrown terrorists but "if it saves one life, it's worth it".

We have clear RINO's but where are the DINO's in congress?

Watching all the coverage was like an AR15 love fest. After seeing all those "Assault rifles" I'll bet the average John Q Public is thinking owning one might not be such a bad idea.

                    The sales numbers prove that.

No...I do not believe they have "forgotten" anything.

BUT....what truly amazes me is that the people of a large city are totally (or it appears that way) OK with what was basically marshal law being imposed on them??? And that door to door searches where being done with no warrants.

Every time something like that is accepted, it makes it easier and easier for it to keep going.

Heck...why not post soldiers on every street corner and make sure curfews are in place and enforced....

"Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will pledge with world leaders to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenarios, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being granted to them by their world government."

Even if the media has temporarily forgotten about their "anti-gun" campaign. We, as Pro-2A, should never lose focus on supporting and defending 2A.

It's interesting that they did not use guns. They could have easily killed more people. Had they used guns this would be a whole different conversation and the dems would be embolden. But like a snake in a hole waiting for it's pry eventually dinner will come by.
