first forgive me for the way i'm writting this because my grammar is not the best.
a friend of mine who got in trouble with the law had to sell his firearms due to lawyers advice. i gave the court my information CDL, HSC the works and the court appointed me as the only person the PD will release the firearms too. i sent DOJ two forms the was given to me by the police department one is the LEGR and the other was the firearms ownership record. i took 6 to 8 weeks but i finally got the letter with the gold seal saying yes i am eligible to own a firearm.
on the approval letter the only gun listed is the handgun. should the letter list both hand gun and long gun? thanks for your help.
part of the letter states, in a case of a long gun that is not recorded in AFS, the long gun can be returned to a person who is not listed in AFS as the owner/possessor of the long gun becaue AFS generally does not include ownership possession information about long guns (pen . Code 11106, subd. (b).) the person seeking return of a long gun not recorded in AFS must present proof of ownership, such as a sale receipt from a licensed firearms dealer, or other bona fide eveidence the long gun was sold or transfered to him or her in compliance with state and federal law.
