he voted no yesterday and then changed his vote so that it could be brought back up today, so it would seem to me that he is "against" it in its current form. ie: he doesnt want to have to vote no on it if he can make it out to be someone else's fault that it failed

So the complete bill was pulled. Probably both because the Barrasso amendment passed and because UBC and AW ban amendments failed

The bill is still alive, still able to be amended, and will be brought back when the anti-gunners have the votes to cram the legislation down our throats.

            Reid to shelve gun bill
            by
CNN Chief Congressional Correspondent Dana Bash

(CNN) - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday he'll set aside proposed gun legislation without a final vote following the defeat a day earlier of major provisions sought by President Barack Obama and Democrats

As noted earlier, it's still out there in the weeds ...

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Meaning, until there is another mass shooting, and then it'll be siting there ready to be pulled out in the very early stages of upset, rather than having to wait 3-4 months to get a bill on the floor. They believe that they failed because they lost momentum, that had they been able to get this bill on the floor in January, it would have passed. So now Reid can whip it out on a moment's notice; they'll wait until there's another tragedy and then spring it on us quickly, while all the furor is still high.

(I freely admit I'm confused, and a little slow)

I was seeing the same thing when I first looked at the bill. Then I realized the link contained a lot of text from other parts of the bill that did not apply.

                    If you look at http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d113:SP730:

You are really only looking at parts 2766-2770. It has other stuff in there, but those are other parts of the bill. And I don't like a lot of what I see in the other parts.

I could be wrong and if I am, I hope someone corrects me.
