Will this cover my rear end?

I am sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

If Cali goes bananas and decides that rim fire rifles such as a 10/22 are "assault" weapons and/ or if they decide to outlaw rimfire all together....
    Yes, both are possible ATM...
Can I legally store a 10/22 in another state?
I will be visiting there often and will enjoy using this rifle every chance I get.
I am not a resident of that state however.
The rifle will have it's own locking device as well as being locked inside a gun safe.

Please note that none of this is occurring right now, but I am trying to plan for the possible future, and stay legal.

Yes, of course you can store your entire firearms collection out of state. Without question, that is legal (assuming naturally that the firearms are legal in the state in which they are store).
