    KEN COOLEY

If this is true, I found one dem I actually do not dislike.

    Dear Friend,

Your comments in opposition to proposed gun-related legislation were received by me recently.

As a supporter of the Second Amendment, and as a public official sworn to uphold the Constitution, I firmly believe in an individuals right to bear arms. I believe the concerns of hunters, recreational shooters, and law-abiding citizens need to be respected.

A number of gun-related bills are being heard in various committees at the moment. Such bills can be significantly altered before they will ever reach me in the legislative process. You may be sure that I will give your views my thoughtful consideration should such bills come before me for a vote.

Thank you for bringing your comments on this topic to my attention. I look forward to hearing from you again whenever matters of concern to you arise.

    Sincerely,

    Ken Cooley

    Assemblyman, 8th District

    District Office:

2729 Prospect Park Drive, Suite 130

    Rancho Cordova, CA 95670

    (916) 464-1910

I know it is very short notice, but it would be great to see a strong showing of P2A Cal Gunners for this meet and greet coffee. I am going to the Carmichael one.

Hey at least it isn't the "I know better than you, and you don't need anything more than a revolver, restricted to a locked container, in your home, only" that we get from others

I really look forward to looking him in the eye and thanking him for not telling me what is best for me and my family.

Got that as well and had similar thoughts. Didn't make me feel like he knew what was best for us.
          Now we know!

Still sounds like a sugar coated version of the form letters I receive from Feinstein, Boxer, and Linda Sanchez.... I for one am not personally impressed.

That's close to home for me. I'll try to get over there for this. If I can make it, I'll be wearing a blue CalGuns polo shirt. I'll bring some flyers of the pending legislation, too.

Obviously, he's a FNG in the Assembly, so we don't have any voting record to look at. It'll be interesting to see how he actually votes. I have the impression that politicians (regardless of party affiliation) often write letters that say one thing, and they turn around and do another, and later they are able to rationalize the difference.

Also, since he's new, I wonder if he has the stones to step out of line and vote against his party... that will be interesting to watch, if he does.

I was going to drive the FJ40 from my avatar, but will be running around all morning, so will be in a white GTI. I will seek out the Cal Gunners I know.

Form letter and it is obvious that he thinks the 2a is only for hunting and rec shooting.

All I got from the letter was, "I'm not telling you which way it will go, bit will keep in mind what my constituents say." Nothing more, nothing less.
Nothing to see here. . . Move along.

I spoke to him and asked him what he thought a "assault rifle" was and if he thought an AR15 was an "assault rifle". He side skirted the question and talked about how busy he is. I'm done, he's a typical politician.
