seeing a whole lot of folks jumping into the "80%" (no such thing in the eyes of the ATF its either a gun or its not) manufacturing ring here these days with no mention of a BATFE determination letter, now alot of us remember the KT ordeal and more recently the TM and wondering if allowing these folks to sell there "paperweights" without a letter is just begging for yet another change in the rulings
kinda rubs me the wrong way when folks skip a step just to cash in while they can fearing the panic buying will be over before they get a letter back from the ATF
so bottom line is we know what the risk the manufacturer/seller is taking (ask KT ORD how much $$$ he is out and the years of stress) , but what about the buyers if a "80" they bought is determined to not fall in the "80%" category by the ATF ? illegal purchase of a firearm ?
