Hi Powered Rifle Loophole / Sniper Rifle Loophole

Since all that the Senators, Congressmen and Media seem to be talking about are loopholes. Gun show Loophole , Home made Gun Loophole , Trust Loophole , Assault weapon Loophole etc.. How long do you think until they start showing their true colors and going after Hunting rifles by Calling them sniper Rifles. I know They already tried it in the 90s but the term just didn't stick.

I can see Feinstein a year from now screaming that the Ruger M77 in 300 win Mag is more Powerful than an Assault weapon and we need to ban that now!
It will be the Usual Media Circus with her Saying No one Needs anything this Powerful because The Deer would EXPLODE with shot with a 300 win Mag.

Maybe that some of the Hunting Rifles Have Detachable Magazines and we Need to ban them now!

NO Gun is Safe from Gun Grabbers they Want to ban everything from NFA registered Machine Guns to a bolt action Cricket 22. And they will try to ban anything and everything they can.

Do a little poking around the net and you'll find this was already considered. The now in jail former Gov Blagojivich (sorry, I'm lazy & won't look it up) proposed such a bill and it found a touch of support - the usual "D" support. These folks came up with caliber, energy and distance measurements and if a cartridge delivered say, 500 ft/lbs at 300 yds and was 30 cal or above - it was banned.

The ultimate goal of these folks is to ban all guns - unless they can't hurt anyone ...

I almost wish they would start going after 'sniper rifles' so all the 'I don't care if they ban assault weapons' hunters would stand and fight with us. It's surprised me to no end how many gun owners feel that way.

We as the collective gun owners of America need to understand this battle has nothing to do with our evil black rifles and all to do with total civilian disarmament. I know most of us informed Calgunners get it, but not all gun owners do.

Some Calguners Get Some don't. There was a thread a few weeks ago in this section about Saving the Benelli R1 and the Browning BAR (the hunting rifle ) from the dreaded assault weapon status. The OP supposedly understood at the end why this is a bad Idea but not everyone does.
An acquaintance of mine is not that much into the fight for gun rights He just has a handgun to protect himself But he had no Idea that Later this year said Handgun could become an Assault Weapon. After finding out he said he would write his representatives. Everyone needs to spread all the information about the attack on the Second amendment. Everyone with a firearm is the target of the Brady Bunch and others like them.
