    HAYNES v. UNITED STATES, 390 U.S. 85 (1968)

Just a thought, but it looks like we have a significant amount of precedent on our side. I know most of this stuff is going to go through the court system, but I found this case and thought many of you might like to read about it. We need to make sure the legal side is well funded and they are well qualified. AS in most court cases, they will not be reheard on account of the attorney being an idiot. The right attorney/firm needs to bring the case and I thought CALGUNS is the right place to make sure that happens. Thanks to all for getting involved. As I am new to this stuff, please direct me to the best place to help.

Here is the link to the actual case:

Here is a link to good commentary on this case by Cramer:

That really is an interesting commentary.

It's just re-hashing what we already knew - gun registration is ONLY hurting the law abiding. We have to pay the $200 tax stamp...the felon/criminal is not going to self incriminate by filling out a form 1 or 4, then send that off to the ATF for approval. That would be self incriminating.

I do like the commentary for the second link. It explains the above and also explains why the NFA was enacted. Well written, something that you should send to people that don't understand. It even goes as far to state that -"handgun registration" is intended for disarming so that no one can own a handgun.

Makes it clear that registration serves no useful purpose.
