IMHO, we are going to have to consider growing our own candidates for public office.
Like it or not, voters like people with some kind of track record, so in my view, we need to start at the city council and county board of supervisor races.
We need candidates that understand the true purpose of the second amendment and are rock solid on gun rights.
California is diverse, so on the other issues, our candidates would have to have play with local climate.
If we need to run far left on everything else candidates who go out of their way to kiss up to the unions to win, so be it.
Ideally we should find individuals who are retired or semi retired, in other words actually have the time to run campaigns.
If nothing else, these campaigns would help us find gun owners in this state and build grassroots across the state.
If we have people here on this forum who are considering running for office, you should make yourself known now.
Electablity is an issue, we can't support candidates who are out of touch with the areas they are running in.
Overall the gun issue is not a first tier issue for most voters, but issues such as abortion, gay marriage, immigration and environment are.
