    Poway Gun threat and confiscation

I have preused many threads and haven't found anything on this issue. This really concerns me. A fathers son makes a threat to do harm with the fathers weapons and the fathers secured guns are confiscated. The media didn't state that the weapons were in a safe but stated the were properly "locked up". So, if that were true why were the guns confiscated? I'd have to see the warrant
but the warrant probably does allow the confiscation of weapons and ammo

"Donahue said the boy’s parents were shocked and cooperated fully."

Maybe the father allowed it? I'm sure he was more worried about his son at the time

Good question: Maybe because the parents "cooperated"? I know this law has been considered but I didn't realize it was in effect in CA. We can't seem to get guns out of the hands of mentally ill or felon adults but people who do the responsible thing, and the kid had no access, so I'm dunno.

Pretty good thread on it here.
