Who knows at this point. They tend to reach for the ultimate and end up with watered down versions. We also dont know if a rimfire will be exempt as they have been in the past on some issues. The supreme court - years away.....

Send your reps letters and emails, call them once a week. Go to ruger and Smith & Wesson and sign up there. There is also a petition floating around here somewhere too. It is important to make your stance and voice heard.

There is ALWAYS a chance. They can ban them and then we'd have to fight to overturn that. If you see the pattern -- Obama knows he can't get this on a Federal level, so the Blue states governors are going to start banning them state by state -- NY, CA, CONN, CO, NJ…

and all the bills (they are NOT laws yet) as written seem to be after EVERY semi, even 22s...

I think nobody really knows, but no matter what happens it will end up in court.

September 13th is the last day for the Legislature to act in 2013 (unless there is a special session, which would require new bills) and October 13th is the last day for the Governor to sign and veto legislation.

So Sept 14th and Oct 14th respectively there will be answers to your questions.

Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. All we have right now is a pie-in-the-sky press conference by some gun hating extremists to go on. That was bound to come after Sandy Hook. Donate to the Firearms Policy Coalition, stand fast, and get ready to call and write when the order comes.

The Second Amendment is the one right that is so fundamental that the inability to exercise it, should the need arise, would render all other rights null and void. Dead people have no rights.

I hope they go that far, so my vote would be:

100%, and then 100% again for the second and third questions

"What if" is not the question to ask. The question is "when?". California is effectively a single party state and the government here no longer needs to answers to the people. They have stated it is their desire to ban semi auto firearms, therefore we WILL see a bill and it will pass... If it doesn't they can override the veto. At that point... We sue them and hope Kennedy and Scalia have even longer lifespans than Feinstein!
