IF we had to turn in Saigas, could we demill them first?

I don't really want to get into a discussion about which laws may or may not pass. I am just wondering about the requirements if such a law did come into existence. I was thinking I would just strip down all my guns and at least keep the parts, in case I moved to another state. I know with AR's, the lower is the only thing I purchased, so that is all I would turn in, but what about Saiga's? Would it be legal to strip it down to just the receiver and turn it in (even if it was obviously destroyed in the stripping process)?

Speculating about laws that don't exist yet is an exercise in futility.

Keep pointing out loopholes in confiscation laws not even on the horizon will only help the anti-2A contingent write more specific laws such as requiring turning in all related parts to the AR-15 and AK-47 series or styles of weapons.

It sounds like you already have made up your mind on your choice.

Ok, admittedly poor wording in the original post. My question is more one of curiosity: To the Gov't, is an ak receiver purchased as a complete rifle the same as an ar receiver purchased as just the lower?

Dude giving up and turning in ur Right to Bear Arms is just the first step to a dictatorship type country. Becuz after the 2A is destroyed, all the others can just be voided.

"What! You object to my goobermental decision? You are now going to be escorted down to the nearest camp. Anything I say goes!" "Btw, ur wife looks hot, she is now my property. If she refuses, ur kids will be shot!".......

Op, Think about what I wrote above. Sh** like this is REAL and WILL happen as it did in the past in countries that are controlled by the gooberment. If the 2A dies, 100% guarantee the constitution will be too. There is a REAL reason why they want the citizens to be helpless and unarmed against the gooberments military/police. It'll be a cake walk for them to control everything. We all have to stand up for our rights and to preserve it for our kids generation too and so on.

WTF?!? Perhaps it's time to start using them if they want to come and take them. Molon Labe!
