and in other news the sky is blue
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774_1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764

drugs are there be cause of demand, guns just happen to follow that demand.
Its easier to subdue people w/o a means of defying.

If the laws didnt have a specific exeption for LEOs I bet ALL LEOs would be against them. I say make it even where the SDPD carries old 38 revolvers and nothing more and no semi auto glocks and no semi auto ar's in their car and see if he felt the same way. Also make it where "retired" LEOs didnt get a bonus of their civil rights when the retire and have to follow the same stupid laws then see if they change their tune.

That moron absolutely does not deserve the title of 'chief'. Being paid off big time by the left's, this dipsh** don't give a ratsazz about the citizens.

Of course he does, It only empowers him and his department. Plus, it would without a doubt, lead to more Federal funding & new "toy" like armored vehicles.

Nope. He is above us in his mind, so why should we have any rights. Rights just get in the way of cops doing whatever they want.

Why do people think that somehow most in law enforcement think any differently?

If it comes to a ban what any individual cop thinks of it is less relevant than whether he or she will follow orders to serve warrants on gun owners.
Politicians and criminals are moral twins separated only by legal fiction.

They will tow the weenie party line to keep their masters happy with them. If everyone who had a hand in hiring them is screaming "get those guns off the street", guess what the Chiefs will be screaming down the chain of command!!

How did that work for New Orleans Katrina victims? Seem to remember CA Highway Patrol officers knocking down doors and illegally confiscating firearms. Doesn't even have to be their own agency giving the orders. Trust me, they will follow orders legal or illegal, many of them zealously.

What really sucks is that come voting day, the average low information voter will vote for any prop or bill that the police chief, teachers union ect endorses. Unfortunately our state has mostly low information voters.

This is old news and there are numerous threads about the Chief. He is a tool, and should shut his yap. Unfortunately, the CINO Fox station in San Diego puts this goof on their morning show at least once a week.
