    My 10 day wait delay

Purchased a rifle and did PPT in Livermore, informed on day 9 that my DROS has been delayed, as usual no reason specified. I fired off emails and placed phone calls, Rep. Jim Frazier's aid actually called me back with an offer to help (big surprise!!) on day 12 FFL called and said it cleared. I'm glad, but not as I wish I had an explanation for the delay. As a veteran and someone who has never been arrested or even charged with any crime ever I am baffled, if the delay was just do to the volume I still would like to know. I'm considering buying something else just to see what happens.

I am of the opinion that a lot of people with nothing negative in their background are getting delayed. The cause is likely the volume of DROS being processed. I think each one has to be blessed by a live person at their desk.

IMO -- this type of delay is worse than a legitimate delay caused by something in a person's background.

We need to revise the DROS process -- deliver after 240 hours or explain why not.
