A rational person would say don't push any new gun laws that are in areas of gun laws that still are not settled law under Heller and MacDonald.

At least the gloves are off, now it is all semi auto rifles, so we can stop this dance around crap we have been doing since 1989.

Most gun owners were the stupid frogs in the pot, now they just turned the heat up to much that many of us will jump out.

My fear is that the legislature will pass these laws inspite of a Gov Brown veto and that we won't be successful in the lower courts or in getting a voter referendum on any passed laws.

The anti-gun crowd has over played their hand. They have shown us all of their cards in NY, and it is going to get ugly there both on the ground and in the courts. Now the gang in Sacramento is eyeballing NY and wants to one up them like Nikki says. They have succeeded in waking the giant I believe, and it isn't going to go well for them going forward.

Gene is pointing out the obvious with his "....wildly unconstitutional..." statement. The courts are going to slap them hard and end up setting some excellent SCOTUS legal precedence for us.

I am predicting here and now: by the end of BHO's 2nd term, we will at least 2 more awesome SCOTUS 2A decisions.

Assuming the Heller 5 remain healthy, anyway.

Thanks Gene. An analogy to these proposals would be if a conservative state imposed a substantial 25K abortion fee on any woman who wanted one, required sterilization of the woman if she had more than 2, required her to go through three weeks of intense psychological counseling at her expense before she could have the abortion, then said "what's the problem honey, we're not saying you can't have an abortion. Your rights are intact."
