    For you Nevada resident CCW'ers

I read a while back that they were not accepting the FN Five-seveN as a valid handgun for CCW. It had to do with the lack of identification stamped on the handgun. Curious to see if there is any recent news about this?

I dont know where you read that. I personally know of a bunch of people even Las Vegas Metro Police Officers who carry FN 5.7 handguns for duty.

You can add anything to your CFM. I personally know a Class III dealer who has the only Glock 18 added to his permit. FULL AUTO.

I actually read it a while back on the FN forums.

Interesting. I was just having a discussion with another gentleman where all NFA machineguns are specifically excluded from CCW eligibility...

Depends on the state. It's legal to CCW a machinegun in California! Or at least, I couldn't see anything in 12050 that would prevent it. Not sure if there might or might not be anything else in some other part of the code.

(If you can get an DoJ MG permit, which is never issued to ordinary people, and if the issuing authority will put it on your CCW, which is hard to imagine.)

Never heard of any restrictions on a FiveseveN for CCW in NV.

The permit just says 'Licensee is authorized to carry a handgun...'

Lots of people put handguns on their NV CCW that are unsuitable for carry because of the backpack carry laws for hikers and hunters: Thompson Center Contenders and Remington XPs, and such.

Intriguing.. maybe it's only a Clark County thing?

The state preemption law took effect in October 1st of last year. Municipalities in NV cannot make their own firearm restrictions any longer.

I know of no law prohibiting the carry of an FN FiveseveN, but there may be one against a machine gun like the Glock 18. I don't think it would be very smart to do that on several levels anyway.
