won't surprise me that he should run. the next guv IMO will be a democrat then we are truly doomed as gun owners. if heller goes our way then we may be able to stop the stupidity this state crams down our throat year after year.

    Jerry Brown:
Republicans complained he didn't build freeways, which weren't his priority, Brown said, but he still built more freeway miles than George Deukmejian and Pete Wilson, the GOP governors who followed him.

"Even without trying, I did more than those two idiots, who were so anti-government they couldn't make it work," he said.
i prefer an anti government governor than a big government governor.

what an A**. this guy for more bigger government than we have allready. god i pitty this state if good ol' Moonbeam gets in office.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Don't worry too much. He didn't do anything as mayor of Oakland, he hasn't done anything as AG, and he wouldn't do anything of note as Governor either...

How about not being doomed when the next governor comes around actually start opposing them??

There are far worse gov's, in terms of gun issues, that are possible.

And unfortunately I don't think Republicans will have a viable candidate.

Wow. We'll have an enemy so we'll give up because we can't win, because we don't fight to win. What are we, the French?

I'm not sure, but I think Wilson and Deukmejian signed more gun control legislation than Jerry Brown did, too.

                    Deuk signed Roberti-Roos AWCA '89.

I don't believe Wilson signed much of significance. In fact he vetoed SB23's predecessorin 1998.

I agree with BW. Jerry Brown is not an enemy on this. He would be a good governor, including on gun rights issues.

Just as long as he doesn't put anyone on the Supreme Ct. like Rose Bird and the Supremes again. Actually, that doesn't matter to me, as I made up my mind never to vote for him after that debacle.

OK, so he might be a friend. Will he have a spine and stand up to the antis and call them out for what they are?

He had enough spine to not sign on the pro-appellant brief in Heller that a few other liberal state AGs were signing (NY, HI, etc). He had enough political reality to not sign on the pro-plaintiff brief that many of the other state AGs were signing.
