Just called my Rep, Ken Calvert.

I just called my Congressional Representative, Ken Calvert, at our local office to inform him I wanted him to oppose Feinstein's AW bill. He can be contacted at:

    Washington Office: Phone: (202) 225-1986 Fax: (202) 225-2004

    District Office: Phone: (951) 277-0042 Fax: (951) 277-0420

The woman who answered was professional, friendly, and attentive. I gave my full name and city I live in. Told her I was a member of the NRA, Second Amendment Foundation, and CalGuns.

He's pro-gun, and I was polite, but told the lady on the phone I was serious about it.

Please go to http://house.gov and contact your Representative today.

Be polite, be courteous, but be firm.

    Do it today.

I called both of his offices. DC offices stated he has not put out a position on DiFi's proposal.

This is the reply I received from his office last week:

        Dear Mr. xxxxx,

Thank you for contacting me regarding gun control efforts in light of the recent shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

On December 14, 2012, Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown came under siege from a lone gunman; 26 people, most of them children, tragically were killed. As a nation, we struggle to comprehend the magnitude of the loss, and the existence of so great an evil. In the aftermath of the shooting, gun control proponents have urged the President and Congress to act to restrict assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy (NY-4) is leading the effort in the House and has introduced legislation to ban the sale or transfer of magazines holding more than 10 rounds. After introduction on January 3, 2013, the High Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device Act (H.R. 1378) was referred to the House Judiciary Committee for further action.

I believe that as we engage in a national debate about how to better protect our children, we must not make the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens an easy target. This essential right must be protected to guarantee our safety and our freedom. Sadly there are often no easy answers in stopping the depraved actions of a lone gunman. The National Rifle Association has put forward their own plan to protect students, focusing on armed security, access controls, student and teacher training, and information technology. As discussions continue, rest assured I will keep your views in mind and certainly appreciate your input.

As your Representative in Congress, please be assured that I will continue to be a strong advocate of legislation that preserves our rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment. Once again, thank you for your correspondence. I hope you will continue to contact me regarding issues of importance to you and your family. In the meantime, I encourage you to visit my website at www.calvert.house.gov and sign up for my weekly e-newsletters. Sincerely,

        KEN CALVERT

My representative is Mark Takano which supports the gun ban and Obama's policy
He will be getting a call from me today.

WASHINGTON — Rep. Mark Takano (D-Riverside) on Jan. 16 threw his support behind the proposals presented by President Obama on addressing the level of gun violence in America. During the event, Obama signed 23 executive actions and asked for congressional action on reinstating the ban of military style weapons, eliminating armor-piercing bullets, limiting the capacity […]

I got the same response from Ken Calvert, but after the inauguration my rep is now Mark Takano. I sent him two emails and have not heard a response yet. I will vote for someone else in the next election.
