I just called Doris Matsui's office and they told me I was the first one opposed to an AWB.

Matsui is a terrible rep. She orchestrates phone call town halls that are heavily scripted and selectively applied to "callers". She's not going to represent anyone. she's one of the "leaders". That said, redistricting placed me into Bera's district. I can tell he's going to vote for a ban. He's already stated that his years as a doctor have influenced his opinion of guns.

This tin-eared opposition just doesn't get it. Despite the tragedies in Tucson, Arizona; Aurora, Colorado; Newtown, Connecticut; and countless other cities and towns across America, they're content to simply keep the status quo.

Well, I'm not.

Sign our petition today to let the President know that we support his efforts to keep our children safe and we won't back down from the extremists' threats!

As President Obama said on Wednesday, keeping our children safe is a fundamental responsibility for us all: "If there's even one life that can be saved, then we've got an obligation to try."
