Whhaaat!!??. After weeks of excoriating gun supporters efforts to meet and rally at their state capitol, you are now suggesting they actually do it at the US capitol? The WhiteHouse no less?

Obama, up until Sandy Hook, has been generally percieved as a 'do nothing' by anti-gunners. From the perspective of Brady Campaigners, he has done too little about gun violence in America. He is also largely impotent to get an assault weapons ban passed in the House.

These circumstances are the exact opposite of what we face at the state level. Anti-gunners control both the senate and assembly and Jerry Brown has demonstrated that he is willing to sign anti-gun legislation, even if it has minimal or no effect on making California communities safer from gun violence.

If an equal or greater number of pro-gun advocates showed at this event, reasonable argument could stand a chance of derailing the dialogue by revealing the emotional and irrational nature of wanting to ban an object- at a national forum.

I might be offended by your use of 'excoriating' in reference to my carefully considered warnings about possible effects of inviting the Hobbits to Mordor, but Im considerably thicker skinned than that. There are places where achievable results can be obtained... and D.C. surprisingly, is still such a venue.
