I assume youve seen approval ratings? This doesnt come as a surprise at all to me. What does come as a surprise is that in a country where congressional approval seems to be forever below 30% (i havent checked in a while), 93% of incumbents get reelected. Its the fault of the blame game. Voters seem to think that its all the other representatives that are the problem, not their own. Voter want to vote for the winner, are afraid to take a chance on someone else, and make no effort to research their decisions.

65% See Gun Rights As Protection Against Tyranny

Several in these forums have asked the old-timers what is different now as compared to earlier anti-gun crusades. This is different! In the bad ol' days, only "gun nuts" believed in the 2A as a check on tyranny and I remember the stares of incredulity when I tried to expalin the purpose of the 2A to others. Even most gun owners hid behind their orange vests if only to distance themselves from the kooks and protect the guns they owned.
But in this go-round, I've seen many articles and editorials from respectable sources, not to mention politicians, that make this point. And now we see evidence that it has become a mainstream idea again for perhaps the first time since the American Revolution. That's new.

So let me get this straight - 65% of people think that guns are for protection against tyranny?
35% of people are WRONG!Hunting is a loophole in the 2nd Amendment to the Bill of Rights.
There is no privilege to keep and bear arms.
Arms are for killing people. All other uses of an arm are illegitimate uses.Comment
