Or perhaps you need to think about the issue in greater detail.
As to video games, that was only a brief part of a message meant to place responsibility on the MEDIA for encouraging these kinds of spree shootings. While its clear Grand Theft Auto has nothing to do with any of these violent crimes, LaPierre's got a point in saying that the Mainstream News Media shares the blame for causing these killings by glorifying these cretins.
Think about it-the fastest way to certain fame in America is to become a mass murderer. All you need is a weapon and a sick mental disposition, and BAM! Instant immortality! Being immortalized as the most deadly guy in America holds an attraction to the disturbed, and the media milks the theme for all its worth in the name of high ratings.
Naturally, the media's not going to face up to that truth anytime soon.
As to this statement....
...it is false, period. The NRA is quite busy fighting for our rights all over the country. As to the "misinformed journalists", watch the pre-NRA Sandy Hook press conference video . You'll see a team of supposedly "impartial" reporters roasting the NRA like a team of proper Brady Campaign members. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. The NRA could spend hundreds of millions of dollars reaching out to the biased press, and it would have the same outcome as talking to a wall.
