The OP, in my not so humble opinion, creates an epic fail by claiming "no taxation without representation."

I believe this poster does not have a representative of his own party sitting in government. I claim this is because the policies of his party failed to achieve majority status.

It is the policies of your party that removed your representative from office. Check it out.

I concur. This is why I want the NRA to stop embracing multiple fronts beyond just one one: defending the Second Amendment of the Constitution for US citizens. When they had that air-head Sarah Plain speak, they embarrassed our cause. There are other groups to deal with all other causes, I gave them my money for only one and I want them to stick to it exclusively.

Let us not forget that the anti-gun groups, including most Democrats and liberals, are painting us all with a broad brush as red-neck, tea party, evangelical, anti-abortion, anti-homosexual, anti-union, gun nuts as well.

I don't fit any of the former and largely have only two things in common with the stated GOP platform: fiscal responsibility in government and RKBA support. While the GOP is primarily ailing from self-inflicted wounds, the Donkeys are not without blame either. Obama is not as bad as the GOP and NRA say he is, but he is far worse than you will admit on RKBA.

What we have is representation without taxation, a large class of people who get their needs met by their representatives in Congress while not paying federal taxes.

Taxation without representation is a myth which your schoolteachers taught you.

It hasn't existed since 1913, the year when the sixteenth amendment was added to the constitution.

Previously, taxes had to be apportioned 1:1 to persons or to states by population, but after that amendment the federal governments taxation ability has no bounds.

Only 17% paid no federal tax last year. Given that 16% of the population is above retirement age and unemployment is 8%, that does not seem unreasonable to me.

Where do you get that statistic from?

Wow, and you feel that "your" party is wonderful?

THIS is the issue that we face. Very few seem to realize that politicians on BOTH sides are self-serving and corrupt. By spinning one party against the other, they keep us arguing with each other instead of uniting to take action against the beast running rampant through our streets.

Our issue isn't lack of representation, it is the fact that our representatives feel certain that only THEY "know" what is best for us, at least in those cases where they aren't passing laws that they to be nothing but self-serving refuse. They have stopped actually representing the voters and have actively been working to undermine the Constitution which they serve.

What we need to end is representation without taxation, ie. bending to the will of the welfare class.

The 2nd Amendment is not about hunting or competition shooting. It's all about your inalienable rights to life and liberty.
