Do 10rd mags have to stay in the BB rifle?

Perhaps a dumb question, but for storage, do I have to keep the 10 rd mag locked in the mag well on a BB AR? I mean to change mags it has to come out for at least a few seconds right?

    thanks

I store guns assembled and disassembled, I don't think it makes a difference.

I keep an empty 10 rounder in during transport and storage, doesn't matter if it's not there, but it might eliminate a possible problem.

IIRC, the law says ability to accept a detachable magazine. If you have a magazine lock, your gun wouldn't have the ability to accept a detachable magazine.

I keep an empty 10rd mag in at all times.

The only reason to is to keep the mag with the rifle. If I was worried aboutsome legal reason surrounding transport or storage, I'd use a sled or 5 round mag just to be different. Obviously, a ten rond mag is not required to be in the gun for any reason.

I have another question if you have a redi-mag system on a BB AR can you have a standard 30 rounder inserted in the redi-mag side? For those of you who don't know what a Redi-mag is see the link below

Are you required to keep a 10 round mag in? No

Though I think it is not a bad idea. It somewhat protects you from the above mentioned situation of someone slapping in a 30 rounder. Plus it makes it a whole lot easier to convince a LEO who doesn't understand the law that your gun doesn't have a detachable mag. It makes it harder to say you don't have a detachable mag when it is detached. (You'd get it squared away eventually, but no use dragging out drama)

haivng a 30 round magazine in a redimag might not be illegal, but it would seem to suggest that it was intended for illegal use since hiCap mags are not allowed to be run in the rifle in state.

if you arent doing anything that would like see the cops coming to your house it might never be an issue- but thats an individual decision.

What about a 30 rd. mag plugged to 10 rds.? I have one and glued the sole plate on so that it can't be removed without breaking something.

No one seems to be able to tell if they are legal.

Does it hold more than ten rounds?

Is it readily restorable to feed more than 10? (if you have to break it to open it, probably not)

If no to both, you're in the green.
