And be real, Yee is nothing more than the current troll carrying anti legislation. There are others in the wings. If not Yee then Skinner or any number of "progressives" bent on making the state your master.

I agree with your don't trust him attitude 100%.

As for no incentive because of the vote I would say we actually have more leverage now. With the new law (prop 14 I think) the top 2 from the primary are on the ticket. With the way things are in Kommiefornia, I would suspect that Lee will be facing off against another democrat. If this is the case, while we may have to hold our nose in the ballot box, there is a greater chance of getting him defeated given his voting record and being a radical from San Francisco.

He would gladly take your votes and then encourage some other gun-grabber to take up his torch and introduce a new version of the BB-ban.

I will not negotiate or support my enemy in exchange for their promise to stop attacking my liberty.

That's kinda like a woman telling a potential rapist......I will marry you if you promise not to rape me.

Not really seeing the upside in that......why would we want to intentionally put a moron like Yee into office?

Why can't we introduce legislation that says all politicians shall only serve one term in office? These career politicians are the problem because they're disconnected from their base.

The public unions that fund all of these jack hole's campaigns would never ever let anything like that pass.

Plus, if you ask people what they think of the legislature as a whole they will say they hate them but ask the same people about their rep's and they say they are doing a great job.

When you lack leverage, especially with Democratic super-majorities in both branches of the legislature and a Democrat in the governor's chair, you have to do whatever you can.

Btw it seems like there are newer gun owners here so let me straighten you out: gun control advocates are VERY hardcore. There can be no negotiation with them and in addition to wanting to use armed law enforcement to take you gun, most of them carry guns too. Their goal is simple: elimination of private firearms ownership from American soil and by force if necessary. WARNING: They are not above the use of armed violence to achieve their goals.

Efforts should be focused on showing as many voters as possible what an ignorant buffoon this guy is.

How is Yee pushing legislation if he is termed out?

I have been following politics closely since 1988, have been a gun owner since around that time, and worked with my father extensively in his gun business. I might be new here, but I know gun politics inside and out. I know how hardcore gun control advocates are, and I've seen them get real ugly. I'm not saying the strategy is likely to work, but I'm all for trying something.

He's still there until the next election. He's termed out when his current period of tyranny service in the senate is complete.

So Leland Yee is running for Secretary of State, turns out voter rights is one of his pet projects. Now that he is termed out in the Senate, he can no longer rely on uber-liberal San Francisco, but he must put himself before all voters of the state, and he will be running against other Democrats.

What if we were to flood his office with letters from Calgunners expressing our support for him as Secretary of State if he were to abandon his anti-gun policies, namely his attack on the bullet button? This gives him hope of a potential block of voters that he otherwise wouldn't have expected. And the Secretary of State office really has no direct impact on our gun rights.

It may not convince him, but its perhaps worth a shot, and us regular citizens ought to be able to play politics just like the rest of them.
bad idea, I can just see him in front of the news camera..."see all this support for me from the pro gun community..."

you can't make deals like this and NOT get burned.

What OP proposed is what happens anyway... candidate promises things, gets elected and laughs in the face of the people he/she promised.

Unless you are a union feeding his bank account, he's not going to keep his end of the deal (none of them do).
